30' Flagpole

On September 17th, 2002 a new 30' aluminum flagpole was raised into position and a 5' x 7' American flag was raised for the first time. The delicate operation was performed by Scott and Martine Holman, F. Mike Smith, Len Heinzman and Mike Pidek with pulleys, rope stays and a little muscle. The pole, flag and mounting were specially selected for the severe wind and weather conditions of Granite Island. A night light has been installed also.
